AUSTRALIA TRANSIT VISA
South Africans can transit through Australia only if they are eligible to do so.
This is what the Australian Home Affairs Government states:-
- Passengers must enter by air
- Hold confirmed onward booking to leave Australia to travel to a 3rd country on the same or connecting flight within 8 hours of arrival in Australia
- Hold necessary documentation to enter the country of destination and not need to leave the airport transit lounge except to continue their journey.
So basically this means:-
- If you will have to go through immigration clearance and check-in, to their onward flight
- Including manage their baggage
THEY WILL REQUIRE A TRANSIT VISA
