Flight Centre Travel Group stops selling SAA tickets
“At midday today Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) informed its customers and SAA of their decision to issue an immediate stop-sell on SAA tickets.
This follows Travel Insurance Consultant’s (TIC) announcement yesterday that it had excluded SAA from its Travel Supplier Insolvency benefit.
“This is the first time that we have had to issue a stop-sell on the national carrier. Following mixed messages from the government about whether the airline will be bailed out and the decision from insurance companies to exclude SAA from their insolvency cover, we have had to make an immediate move to mitigate the risk to ourselves and our clients,” says FCTG’s md for Middle East and Africa, Andrew Stark.”
Hollard Travel Insurance Excludes SAA
“Hollard Travel Insurance and Bryte Travel Insurance have confirmed that SAA is excluded from their travel supplier insolvency benefit, effective earlier this month.
Travel Insurance Consultants (TIC) announced on Wednesday it would exclude SAA from its Travel Supplier Insolvency benefit, effective November 28”
Madagascar Visa
Those looking to apply for Madagascar visas should be aware that the Cape Town Consul General office has closed.
Applicants can apply for visas online or can visit the Durban or Pretoria offices.

Tunisia Visa
South African’s need visas now to enter Tunisia:
From December 1, South African passport holders will require a visa to enter Tunisia. Visas can be obtained from the Embassy of Tunisia in Pretoria.
The embassy is open from Monday to Friday, from 09h30 to 12h00 for submissions, and 12h30 to 14h30 for collection.

Australian visa news : Apply early to avoid delays
“The Australian High Commission is entering its peak season and urges applicants to apply for visas early.
The processing time for tourist applications is roughly one calendar month. Applicants can apply up to three months in advance.”

Travelers to Kilimanjaro Tanzania needs a Visa
With immediate effect, Kilimanjaro airport has changed the process of issuing visas on arrival. Clients arriving in Kilimanjaro without a visa now need to complete the following process:
Queue for a Government Control Number
Pay for it at the bank
Immigration will then check and issue the visa
The changes mean that the visa on arrival process can take in excess of two hours.
However, those travelling to Tanzania can apply for their visa online here. The online process asks for more information than the visa on arrival and will be issued within two to three weeks.

Pakistan visa update
“The Pakistan High Commission in South Africa has introduced an online e-visa option for travelers from South Africa.
The interview process in Johannesburg is no longer required and applications can be done via the following platform https://visa.nadra.gov.pk/.

Egyptian notice for VISA PROCESSING
As of today business and tourist visas are taking 21 WORKING DAYS TO PROCESS.
One cannot pay any urgent processing fees to hurry up the visa processing at the Embassy in Pretoria.
We have tried many times to get through to the Egyptian consular office, but their phones are ringing off the hook.

TURKEY VISA NEWS – no e visa on arrival as from 29 OCT 2018
Travellers to Turkey will have to apply for e-visas in advance after Turkish airports discontinue self-service e-visa kiosks from October 29 2018.
The Turkish Embassy has confirmed that self-service e-Visa kiosks and WiFi areas in Turkish airports, where visitors have been able to apply for an e-Visa on arrival, will no longer be available from the end of October.
Applications need to be applied via Pretoria.
